oya (ollas)
Handmade Oya from Brownell Pottery

Happy New Year everyone and at Brownell Pottery we are already looking forward to spring and warmth (Right now it is snowing and cold outside!). Last summer we worked on a series of oyas that we created for our gardens. Oya’s are ceramic terra cotta pots that are not glazed (we glazed the lids:) to allow water to seep through the clay into the surrounding ground. We found these pots successful for the hard to water mounds such as zucchini and pumpkins.

We are working hard to increase our stock so look in the near future for a variety of sized oyas that we will be selling on our web site and on etsy!
